For Immediate Release

Miami, April 18th, 2012- The moment that everybody was waiting for has finally arrived. First of all, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports this new band near or far. The noise from everywhere makes Richie’s band the most anticipated in the Haitian Music Industry.

The name of the band is officially known as “KLASS”. Right now, we are in the studio working hard to offer something with class to the public. A new school of Kompa is about to open its door, where everyone will be welcome to attend “KLASS”.

We ask our female fans where they are heading, and they reply they are going to “KLASS”. We ask our male fans how they function, and they answer that they do everything with “KLASS”. We ask our promoters what they think, and they reply an event without this band will have no “KLASS”.

We will release the names of the musicians and other information regarding the band in our next announcement. We believe in clean competition, respect, determination, and success. We look forward to entertaining the public and working with the promoters.

NÒT POU LA PRÈS

Miyami 18 Avril 2012- Finalman jou tout moun tap tann nan rive. Tou dabò nou ta renmen di mèsi ak tout kè nou a tout moun ki sipòte nouvo gwoup mizikal sa a. Bri a sonnen tèlman fò nan kominote Ayisyen an ke yo konsakre nouvo djaz Richie a kòm gwoup ki gen plis antisipasyon nan indistri mizikal la.

Ofisyèlman djaz la rele "KLASS". Kounye-a nou nan estidio nap travay trè di pou nou pote yon pwodwi de "Klass" pou piblik la. Yon nouvo lekòl konpa pwal louvri pòt li e nou envite tout moun pou yo vinn nan "KLASS".

Lè nou mande ti medam yo kote yo pwale, yo reponn yo pral nan "KLASS". Lè nou mande ti mesye yo kijan yo fonksyone yo reponn yo fè tout bagay avèk "KLASS". Lè nou mande promotè yo kisa yo panse yo reponn yon progwam nan jou kap vini yo san djaz sa pap gen "KLASS", lol.

Nou gen pou-n revele non mizisyen yo ak lòt enfòmasyon de djaz la nan prochèn kominikasyon nou gen pou-n fè. Nou kwè nan konpetisyon ki pwòp ak respè, detèminasyon e siksè. Nap travay pou-n fè kè piblik la kontan e kolabore ak tout promotè yo.

Daan Junior
Biography
From Daan Junior’s Facebook page

Singer, songwriter and artist, Daan Junior was born in Miragoane, Haiti. Growing up he was exposed to many rich traditional Haitian folklore, konpa, and roots. At the age of twelve Daan Junior started in music by playing the piano and singing; even before the age of twelve he showed great passion for singing and music in general. After many different trips around the world with his parents, Daan Junior decided to leave Haiti and attend High school at Jule Ferry in Paris, France; and has been living there since. Daan Junior has many different influences like Lionel Richi, Michael Jackson, Andrea Bolcheni, Tina Turner, R-Kelly, Lucky Dube, Alan Cave, and Kassav. In 2001, Daan Junior put together a band which he called D’five. The following year Daan Junior released his first album entitled "Di'm sa ou vle” (tell me what you want) which the song titled “A'vew” (With you) dominated the music charts. In 2006 he released his second album"J'ai soif de Toi” (I am thirsty for you). This album features ten neatly interlaced songs mostly about romance, passion, sexual innuendo, and the long struggle of his beloved land, Haiti. Almost every song on this record is built on great vocals, seductive time- stopping melody, and harmony. Basically, this album is poetry put into music. When Daan Junior is not busy touring Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Cannes, Guiyanne, St. Martin, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Dominique, St. Lucie, St. Laurent, Montreal, Ottawa, Switzerland, Belgium, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea, Togo and etc. he’s in his studio singing and composing music. In Conclusion, Daan Junior is one of the youngest Konpa Musician who has been showcasing Haitian music and cultural around the world.

El Pozo left Zenglen
Note from JP Relations on behalf of El Pozo

Greetings to all!
I wanted to take this moment to inform everyone that I have officially resigned from Zenglen. This was a very tough decision to make but a necessary one in order for me to start a new chapter in my life.

Zenglen will always hold a special place in my heart. For 11 years we have toured the world together, spent countless hours in the studio, and delivered performances to our fans night after night. Those years helped form a brotherhood that I am very much honored to have been a part of. This brotherhood produced chemistry on the stage that fans from all over were able to experience. Even with my departure, I am confident that Zenglen will continue to provide this experience as they will remain a reference to and institution of konpa. With that said, if Zenglen ever needs my services, trust that I will always be there.

My journey continues with the pursuit of new musical endeavors. Although I will be absent from the stage for a while, trust that I will be working hard behind the scenes to return with the guitar melodies that you will continue to love. Stay tuned as I will keep you posted.

I now close the Zenglen chapter with much gratitude to all of the band members, staff, and fans whom I have had the pleasure to interact with along the way. I wish the band much success in the year 2012 and beyond. Although I know I will miss my Zenglen family, I look forward to my future and this new beginning.

Yours truly,
El Pozo

Tanpri bondye bannou fòs pou’n kenbe
nan lavi sa a,
Tanpri papa,
Tanpri papa bannou fòs pou’n sove ti
peyi sa a,
Yon ti souf pou Ayiti...

Jodi a nou met ajenou nan pye ou
Paske nou rekonèt se ou k' kreye n
Men dlo pa ka sispann koule nan je nou
Paske nou we jan peyi nou blese, blese
Nou vin’ pou n' diw mèsi ak tout kè nou
Paske nou menm nou sove
Tanpri bay lèzot yo lasante
Beni tout sila yo k' ale kite nou
Jodi a se pou yo nap chante
Pou Ayiti sove

Tanpri bondye bannou fòs pou’n kenbe
nan lavi sa a,
Tanpri papa,
Tanpri papa bannou fòs pou’n sove ti
peyi sa a,
Yon ti souf pou Ayiti...

An’n pase a laksyon
Poun' bati yon nasyon
Nou bezwen disipli’n ak yon bon kowòdinasyon
Nou pral fè fòmasyon ak bon edikasyon
Pati sou nouvo prensip, e mete yo an aplikasyon
Nou menm atis nou vle pou’n kontribye
Mete men nou ansanm pou nou ede
Nou vle pou’n fè yon sèl, pou Ayiti
pi bèl
Yon jou la va klere kon lakansyèl

Tanpri gide nou papa
Wa va klere nou papa
Pou’n wè pi byen devann pou’n sa wè kote ke nou prale
Tanpri gide nou papa
Wa va klere nou papa
Pou nou pa janm pedi lafwa
Pou Ayiti demare

Tanpri bondye bannou fòs pou’n kenbe
nan lavi sa a,
Tanpri papa,
Tanpri papa bannou fòs pou’n sove ti peyi sa,
Yon ti souf pou Ayiti...

How many times we thought we made a decision and happened to be wrong ? How many times we thought we knew someone or something when in fact we were in total ignorance ? Truth is, God knows what's best for us . If you see your bitter neighbor getting your dream car or the most disrespectful individual at your job getting the promotion you expected, DO NOT panic and curse or feel awfully miserable for God knows what's best for you. It's definitely not your time yet !! Your moment to rejoice may be much greater than theirs.

“A Breather”
from Michael (Mika) Benjamin

Please God, give us strength to hold on
in this life
Please Father
Please Father give us strength to save this little country
A breather for Haiti

Today we kneel before you
Because we recognize you are our creator
Tears cannot stop from running in our eyes
Because we see how our country is hurt, hurt
We come to say thank you with all our heart
Because we were saved
Please give the other ones health
Bless all those who passed
Today we are signing for them
For Haiti to be saved

Please God, give us strength to hold on
in this life
Please Father
Please Father give us strength to save this little country
A breather for Haiti

Let’s start taking action
To build a nation
We need discipline and a good coordination
We’ll do some training and good education
Start on new principles and apply them

Us artists, we want to contribute
Put our hands together to help out
We want to be one, for Haiti to be more beautiful
One day it will shine like a rainbow

Please guide us Father
You will illuminate us Father
For us to see ahead, for us to know where we’re going
Please guide us Father
You will illuminate us Father
For us to never lose faith
For Haiti to have a new start

Please God, give us strength to hold on
in this life
Please Father
Please Father give us strength to save this little country
A breather for Haiti

So yesterday I had a blast with the family in NYC...But there were 3 amazing Artists that made my night that much special. I spent my night at the City Winery ...the concert that included Karizma Hmi one of the best young band fresh out of NYC, Olivier Duret an amazing vocalist and last but not least J Perry an amazing solo Artist.
I had a chance to buy his album last night; after listening to it I was shock he is so different from any Haitian artist I know. He focuses more toward our new generation and most of the songs are in English. It just had amazing music.
I was dancing on every track, he will definitively go far in this music thing. Also Had Power Serge, and Dj Stakz Cantstopwontstop Hi-profile who was there to do his thing... So I had a great Thanksgiving... Thank you Lord.

Merci,
Olivier
